belief and cause any better or worse than our enemies? When the enemy is in our rifle sights, what is the thought and intent in our heart when we squeeze the trigger?
I speak as a soldier not for the soldiers; I served my
time and done what I had to do; I serve with honor for God and country and with respect for my opponents. Although I disagreed with their beliefs and their cause I had to respect them; I could not find it in myself to hate them.
Their beliefs both religious and political was just as strong to them as mine were to me; should I hate them and want to kill them for their convictions just because they differed from mine?

By the grace of God I have been able to keep the past in check without drugs or alcohol and suicide has never crossed my mind; to this I give God thanks because He kept the hatred and vengeance out of my heart.
Soldiers are our country’s defenders . . . not hired murderers.
There is difference between killing and murdering . . . it's in the heart.
